Meet Our Instructors

 

Kevin Thatcher (owner)

Kevin ThatcherAfter training at the Royal Ballet School & Elmhurst Ballet school, Kevin embarked on a professional dance career for 12 years, which took him all over the world, including the USA, Lebanon, Europe and the Far East. After settling back in the UK, he became a Personal Trainer (Premier DIP PT RSA REPS) and sports massage therapist (IHHT ITEC). He now combines his dance and athletic knowledge to create an exciting approach to health & wellbeing.
In 2006, he started the studios in East Dulwich to give people a warm and friendly environment in which they could train comfortably at their own pace.

Kevin teaches our Adult Ballet classes, Ballet Sculpt and runs Personal Training sessions.

Colette Hicks (Senior Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor)

Colette HicksColette is a YMCA qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and joined Push from the very start. Having trained in dance at the London Studio Centre she performed professionally in numerous cabaret, television and fashion shows all over the world, the most famous being as a can-can dancer at the Moulin Rouge and a Bluebell girl at the Lido de Paris.   She incorporates her dance knowledge into personal training, by teaching correct technique and posture.  By helping to improve your core stability and strength, you will find that your body shape will change . Her work outs often consist of using a swiss ball and mat exercises that are fun yet reap the results. Colette also provides one-on-one Pilates.  Colette is Pilates Institute qualified.

Colette teaches the Pilates classes (except Saturday mornings), and is our senior Personal Trainer.

Nat Pero (Personal Training and Kettlebell Instructor)

Nat Pero - Instructor and Personal trainerNat has a wealth of knowledge in the fitness world.
His sports background and weights training experience brings to the Studios a unique balance for our Clients. Since graduating from Brunel University in 2001, Nat has acquired 6 yearrs of experience working within the sports and fitness sector.

Nat teaches Kettlebell classes on Tuesday Evenings and Saturday mornings and runs Personal Training sessions Monday through toSaturday.

Cherron Johnson (Personal Trainer and Reike Therapist)

Having originally trained as a dancer, Cherron’s pathway to teaching fitness was a natural step.  She first qualified in 1991, teaching a wide variety of styles including Pilates.  With many years experience Cherron has a wealth of knowledge to share and remains as enthusiastic as ever. For the last 9 years Cherron has also practiced the healing arts of Reiki/Seichem (Master) and Indian Head Massage to help contribute a more holistic approach to our well-being.

Rachel Barlow (yoga)

Rachel Barlow Yoga InstructorRachel started practicing Sivananda Yoga in her local gym in 2001.  She knew very quickly that it was having a profound effect on her physically, mentally and spiritually.  After studying ballet as a child, she developed a basic understanding of yoga asana quite quickly and decided to deepen her practice.  In 2005 she went to India to study yoga further.  Her journey started in Goa practicing Astanga Vinyasa Yoga at Brahmani Yoga School.  Rachel then went on to take Teacher Training with Sivananda in Kerala and then to live in Mysore where she studied Astanga Vinyasa Yoga with Ajay Kumar and Hatha Yoga with Atma Vikasa. Rachel went back to India in October 2006 to take Astanga Teacher Training at Brahmani Yoga School in Goa.  She practices Astanga Yoga, pranayama and meditation daily.  Rachel studies Astanga Vinyasa Yoga under the guidance of Hamish Hendry and attends as many workshops and other classes as possible.

Laeony Jones(pilates)

dLaeony trained in dance at the Laban Centre of Contemporary Dance and went on to gain a First Degree in Dance with Visual Arts and Film at the University of Brighton. She has been practicing Pilates for 14 years, benefiting from its profound effects. Laeony has a natural and gentle affinity with the body and she works sensitively, incorporating her dance training into her teaching. She trained as a teacher with Body Control Pilates.

Luis De Sousa (Holistic Therapist)

Luis is a qualified therapist with the Essentials for Health School and is always striving for new knowledge and challenges. As well as joining the team he is currently studying for his Sports Therapy diploma, which he also hopes to offer to Push’s clients very soon. He recently volunteered for the charity CRY, massaging runners after the London Marathon.

 

Luis practices Holistic & Deep Tissue Massage.
