ABS FAB CORE WORKOUT
SATURDAY 7TH MARCH 2.30 - 4.00PM/ £16.50
This 90 minute workout will will focus on the core muscles of the body. Drawing on disciplines including Pilates, Yoga, Boxing and Ballet, Jenny will take you through a series of exercises to strengthen the core - front, back and sides.
Working all the muscles of the torso - superficial to deep - and there are a lot of them! - the workshop will take a core tour around the body. This class will take us from the deepest to the more superficial muscles including the transversis abdominis, internal and external obliques, rectus abdominis, multifidus, erector spinae, trapezius, latissimus dorsi, intercostals and many more.
We will begin with a thorough warm up - test ourselves to the limit - and close with a well deserved stretch. Come along and feel the burn!
YOGA INVERSIONS FOR BEGINNERS
SATURDAY 21st MARCH 2.30 - 4.30PM/ £25
Yoga is a progression for both your body and your mind. If you have done any yoga classes at all you will have done at least one inversion, downward dog. You will probably know that inversions progress through shoulder stands, headstands, forearm stands and handstands. These represent not only a physical challenge but also a mental challenge too. The physical postures look daunting and you may regard them as impossible for you and also be afraid you will fall over.
As always with yoga progress is made gradually. In this workshop we will look at the physical and mental preparation necessary to make safe progress. The aim will be to take the fear out of the challenge and to provide practical techniques that you can use not only in the workshop but in future classes and maybe in your own practice, and have fun while you are doing it!
